Ripserver Makes CDs

Whether you have your own band or want to start a mini-music production company, Ripfactory has unveiled its NAS with integrated CD ripping engine. Plug the Ripserver into a network connection via USB and it will hold up to 1TB of music files. Insert a CD into the loading drive slot and it will be converted in a matter of minutes, adds it to your library with its UPnP media server, and spits it back out. No keyboard or monitor is needed. Ripserver runs on Linux and needs minimal setup. Select from 500 or 1TB capacity, black or white, for £599 (~$1,200.00) or £699 (~$1,400.00.)

i-Buddy Enlivens MSN Messaging

ibuddy Pay attention, MSN IM addicts. The i-Buddy, who looks darn close to the icon, hooks up to your USB port and responds to incoming MSN messages with his glowing head and wings. The 3-inch figure does more. He will respond to emoticons within the messages and can even be programmed to alert you to one specific bud. How kewl is that? Logitech has unveiled its first wireless headset, created specifically for Internet calls. The ClearChat made its debut today at the CeBit in Germany and allows users to move up to 33 feet from their PC or Mac. If you are in a small place, that means a quick snack or bathroom break without interrupting your call. The VoIP headset has 2.4GHz technology, USB connectivity, a noise-canceling microphone, and stereo so that you can hear clearly while rustling through the fridge. There are also volume and mic mute controls, a padded headband, and plush ear pads. Look for the ClearChat to hit the U.S. and Europe in May with a price of $99.99 (U.S.).
